Hello from olathe, ks
I have just started gardening. I haven't even planted anything outdoors yet but I do have several plants started inside. I'm anxious to learn all I can about gardening!

Welcome to the site.
May I suggest you spend a few days reading the items on the left of the home page and also spend a few days reading the threads in nthe main index of the home page to give you a decent flavour of what our way of All New Square Foot Gardening ( ANSFG) involves .
In my strap line is mention of the book we run or square foot gardens by so we all sing off the same song sheet and understand where we are commming from .
From my own observations it is a worthwhile book to have as it show you how to do it and tells you what to do . Follow the book and you won't go far wrong ... a few million people have proved this all around the world .
PS
Mel is not my relative nor do I have shares or interests in the organisation other than as a square foot gardener who realises the great value of the system .

Re: Hello from olathe, ks
I second the laquita1967. It seems to someone not familiar to SFG impossible to get this kind of results from such a small space. My first year I made all the mistakes going the cheap way out will give you. The advantage to this system; and it IS a system; is you take the poor soil OUT of the equation forever. The soil is what takes 'row/ dirt' farmers YEARS to perfect to make decent fruit. So when you say "it is too expensive" go figure how much years of failure costs!
I am not related to Mel either but my garden thanks his system every day. Stick around grab the book enjoy gardening as the most of us do.
