PNW: Bulk mushroom compost now @ Shorty's
From Shorty's Garden & Home (in Vancouver) facebook page:
Bulk Mushroom Compost
This fantastic soil amendment comes from a mushroom farm in Lacey, Washington and consists of 60% wheatstraw, 25% poultry litter, 10% gypsum, and 5% dried urea, which are combined and composted. Mushrooms are grown in the material and then picked. The spent compost is then sterilized. This compost is a great additive to improve your vegetable gardens and flower beds. A great value at only $24.99 per cubic yard!

So glad you posted this picture. I bought bulk mushroom compost this weekend and it looked just like this...stringy and chunky. I was nervous that it was unfinished or had too much straw in it. Thanks.

$17 for a truck load?!?!? We just bought compost for our new bed and it was the little baggies from McLendon - so expensive! Oh when will the worms turn my garbage into gold :fall:
