Squeaky New From Tennessee
Big 'HOWDEEEEE' from mid-Tn.
Brand new idjut here trying to learn how to garden. I am barely an amateur so take everything
I say with a grain of horse manure.
However, since my trail leads from Texas to Louisiana to Middle Tennessee, I am mainly confused
or conveniently forgetful.
Luv to BBQ, listen to zydeco music, hate wearing ties, and have 6 pair of my favorite boots.
I will pester ya with a thousand questions and will expect only the one perfect answer.

Welcome Putnam Plateau Planter
Cookeville's climate is quite different than ours here 80 miles to your west, but SFG works great in Sewanee and Monteagle, so it will work great in Cookeville.
I am an old enough codger to have seen your aging football coach Watson Brown play for Vanderbilt back in the late 60's and early 70's. He could have been a Hall of Fame baseball player too.
Question away, but for the best answers, you need to send some BBQ brisket (Texas-style) to the Music City. I rarely have time to take use our oversized Brinkman smoker. We actually use the flat top of the side-box and the wooden shelf to harden some of our veggies.

Thank you Hardcoir/Neighbor
Appreciate your welcome and will be delighted to bend your ear over a slab o' ribs any time you
come out this way. Am in the process of completing stage 2 of my raised bed project. Just
put some new tomato seedlings in my make-to greenhouse today.
Thanks again & talk to ya soon

Welcome
JacknTn,
Welcome, welcome, welcome! I am also very new to serious gardening. I have found this forum to be rich with information and everyone is tremendously helpful. You will fit in just fine.
I am from the Central South in Fayetteville, GA (20 miles south of Atlanta).
Originally from Los Angeles, I'm afraid I'm a city boy adjusting to the suburban south. I am slowing making the adjustments to southern living (been here seven years).
As I said, welcome and Happy Gardening!!!

Again, get on up here to the plateau and I will tell you what you are doing wrong only if
you tell me what I am doing wrong. (Of course over a slab of ribs and a toast with a
Guinness)
Thanks again for the welcome,
Jack~
