potatoes using Mel's High Rise Method

Last year we had good luck growing potatoes using Mel's High Rise Method, so this year we decided to have more squares, we have a 3x6 SFG just for potatoes this year.
I've added the high rise.

And added more of Mel's mix to the two rows in the middle, as the others grow a little taller I will add more of Mel's mix to them also.

This is excellent. Thank you for sharing this ! Being new to SFG myself Ive been reading everything I can on how folks work with the "root" veggies. It really helps me to have a visual. Your pics have helped, I will definitely being showing my husband Smile

We are going to make a separate root box as well.

Great! glad I could be of help!
The harvest is easy too, I just remove the high rise box, and I just scoot the extra Mel's mix from the high rise off into a bucket, and the potatoes are right there in the loose Mel's mix. You can harvest a high rise row at a time or the whole bed just whatever you want, and it's so easy...no digging!

My husband made it using a form and ready mix cement.
Here is a link to another post about it stone look walk
He started making it last year, and as we add to our SFGs he adds more walk.

That looks awesome!
... and my daughter has the mold, too... (actually, she has that one, and one that looks like cobblestones). Once I'm sure about my layout, I think I'll be doing something similar!

I still haven't adjusted to the fact that I, too,can grow real vegetables! I did last year, but I see something like your cabbage and am just amazed!
