What to sow in Jan
The lower south region has so many last frost dates. Some of you are already planting out cool weather crops and starting your warm weather seeds. Others of us are getting close. Even up here near the northern edge I'm getting my seeds together to start some things early Feb.
This year I will be doing my spring garden exclusively at my son's house in Wilmington, NC. My DIL needs to go to the Philippines for a little over 3 months to help her mother and sister out with Dad who had a stroke 2 years ago. So Grandmom is staying with the school age kids.
Since this is where the "POND" beds are, it will give son and I a chance to expand a bit.
I found this is from the Southern Exposure Seed exchange blog.

And here is a planning guide for our hot summers.

Good luck with the ponds and the grandkids they can be a handful at times. seeing how they are school age, you can get them started in the garden young also please tell you D-I-L to get her dad out of the house and into a garden as soon as they can,I've been there and done that 3 times in the last four years, getting into the garden and outdoors has help more then anything the doctors have come up with it will take some time to get him back into doing the things he needs to do,like relearning to talk & walk or life in a wheelchair big adjustment for him,I found or find release in the garden can't really tell you why,it's just relaxing to grown new life?? got to his wheels turning again (fast)Doctors told me in 6 months,I'd recover about as much as I was going too,Hummmm they were wrong again,at least some what thanks for the blog it will help,I've lost most of my memory for years ago.
