This morning I saw that all 4 of my Rich Sweetness melons were peeking their seed leaves out of the ground! What's coming up for everyone else?

Finished getting the rest of my seeds in the ground. Here is the layout:

N&C Midwest - May Garden East_b10

N&C Midwest - May Garden Side_y10

N&C Midwest - May Garden Side_y11

N&C Midwest - May Garden Side_y13

All entire north side is trellised, and the east edge with tomatoes Now, if only the rest of the seeds come up!

Goosegirl -- I love your layout charts. What software do you use?

It is actually a mix of (mostly) Excel and (a little bit) Word. I use Word ClipArt to find pictures of veggies or flowers and save them all on one Word document as my master list, sized down to fit inside my Excel grids. I also copied and pasted some of the veggie pics from the www.gardeners.com garden planner. It will give you ones that show actually how many per square, but the selection is limited. For me, I mostly used the ClipArt for single pictures. That way I could also edit colors (like the purple and red carrots!).

I make the beds in Excel, then copy and paste the veggies as I want to add them over to the Excel sheet. I paste lots of extra ones on the side, away from my grids so I can just grab and drag them to the squares I want. It lets me play with different planting arrangements easily. Once something is actually planted, I shade the Excel cell in green. Anything not in green I know is only a thought, not a done deal!

I had fun playing with it and setting it up. So far it is working for me.
