What to plant, and photos of progress
I have what I think are cabbage moth caterpillars on 3 squares of greens - lettuces and arugula, being munched away and leaving droppings behind. We picked off a bunch of the 'pillars last evening. I'm going to harvest it all and salvage what I can. Aside from checking the MM for more critters, anything I need to do before I replant those squares to make sure they're all gone?
These three squares are in my 4x4 box - one at the SE corner, one to the north, and one to the west. What do you suggest I plant there? I already have cukes, tomatoes, peppers, bush beans, carrots. Most of my herbs are in pots (one square has parsley and thyme). Should I try potatoes? Is the timing ok to start shallots or onions?
Hubby finally built my separate tomato box on Mother's Day and since we had enough cedar, at the last minute I asked him to increase the size to 2x6! (We love tomatoes.) For fun, here are some photos of my plant progress, taken this weekend.
4x4 box:
Cucumbers, growing like crazy:
One of my three sweet peppers:
Bush beans (with marigolds peeking from the square in front of it):
Carrots:

Thanks Ann!
I should also mention that we don't like eggplant, so that's not really an option. I also already have scallions in a pot on my deck.

A few ideas
Kohlrabi, swiss chard (fordhook giant), turnip greens (ones that don't produce a turnip), onion sets, amaranth, borage, potatoes, milk thistle, stinging nettles, beets, butter crunch lettuce (it is nice to pick the outside leaves to put on sandwiches, not so nice for salads), etc.
