Hah! Who knew? That is soo cool. With just two of us, I can't wait to have all 64 plants producing. I want to be overrun with berries and have to freeze them and make all the strawberry smoothies I want all winter long with home grown berries. That's heaven to me.

Hi there LM
and for me to add my 2 cents.
WHAT NOT to do,.... what I did... several years ago, thought that the stawbs looked a bit pale and so I added GUANO..... =high nitrogen.
I got HUGE strawberry plants with lovely LARGE leaves, but almost no strawberries.
Also with regards to the frost, I have a raised bed with strawberries from last year and we had temps down to -22 celcius which is about -8 farenheit, and they are just fine.

Littlejo, sweeter after a frost, gotta love these berries.

GWN Good advice, I will not add guano.

Good News since the pictures were taken 2 days ago they appear greener, have more growth plus new little green dots of growth coming off many of the stems. I don't know what those are but I think I like it. Embarassed right?

AvaDGardner wrote:I did buy two Sea Scape bare roots a month ago for my strawberry pot. They get ignored, and start to dry, then come back. Of all the plants berries (sequoias), they are growing the most. I don't expect any fruit from those two this year, though.

Well blow me down! I noticed today that one of the seascapes has a flower on it! I never would have expect that. I hope it makes a fruit! (I haven't seen polinators on my patio at all).

Bea, thanks for the info on Quinalts v Sequioas.

I'd have to describe Ozarks the same as Quinalts. They are large, perfect shaped (they have a V profile), but even dark red are not that sweet...even a bit flat. Sequoias, when they are dark red, are incredibly delicious. If they aren't deep red, they can be a bit tart.
