My first SFG!
Hi gang,
I posted here briefly last year, but was put off starting my first garden due to the cicadas infestation at the time.
Anyhoo, I finally got my act together and made my first, simple, 4x4 SFG...
A bit dark because it was getting late in the evening by the time I finished up.
The box is the $35 kit from Home Depot. Slats are some cheap wood lath (also from Home Depot) that I cut, drilled, and put nuts/bolts into. I found vermiculite and all the other MM ingredients at the first place I stopped at... thanks vermiculite database!
I planted seeds for two squares of spinach, one square of chard, and another square of lettuce. After a few weeks I'll probably do another chard and another lettuce. No idea if any of that will work (maybe a bit too late to start from seeds???), but what the heck. I've got 16 squares--one of them is bound to come out okay, right?

Well done!
Your SFG looks real nice! I like the corner posts. Aesthetically pleasing.
I had the best time my first year with my 4X4 SFG. I made two more the next year. Up to 48 squares these days. Always improving and learning.
Enjoy!

Well I know where I'm going next year (or maybe will purchase this year for next) when I expand... home depot it is! Will totally spend $35 for a 4x4 bed that I can just easily put together without the skill saw and my wonky measuring lol.

Re: My first SFG!
I went to the Home Depot yesterday and bought two 16'x10"x2" boards for $12.+ each, and had them cut to four foot lengths, and a box of 3" screws for $11. It's not quite as pretty, but much cheaper and just as easy, if you have a drill/driver.
