Planted today! (West MI 5b)
Filled up a couple of my patio pots with MM last week and watered it down well.
It's over 80 degrees here again today, so I went out to check the patio pots. When I stuck the instant-read thermometer in ... the soil was 87 degrees! (Note to self - go to hardware store and buy some WHITE spray paint for outdoor plastic)
Can't wait any longer!
Planted bolt-resistant leaf lettuces and spinach as well as some short carrots and radishes. Figure I can always bring in 2 pots if we get a cold snap.
Went to Home Depot today looking for compost (already have the moss and vermiculite) All they had were 40lb bags of "organic humus and manure". Not sure where I'm going to get 5 kinds of compost now that I've moved ... I don't know this area and compost piles are NOT allowed in our condo community.
Haven't seen weather like this in all of my 70 years. Really worried about our orchard farmers ... trees are budding already. If it stays warm much longer, and then we get hit with a cold snap, we could loose a whole season of fruit.

Yeah! Got my cold stuff going too...We've been having the same crazy warm weather here in Colorado...
Let me know if you find any place with good compost choices...It's awful hard to get started when all the garden sections are "Closed for the Season"...Ace hardware here seems to have a pretty good selection but very pricey.

The weather forecast is for 50F- 80F this week, so I went ahead and planted today. I put in two eggplants from a neighborhood plant sale, some peas, beans, lettuce and spinach, also basil. The potatoes go in tomorrow.
