I don't remember planting this!
It's a great topic, but is it supposed to link to something? It doesn't for me, but it is a habit of mine, and would welcome any hints in this area.(Top of home page)

I used to plant the seeds in a few squares then forget what went where before I got the plant markers made.
I now, religiously, fill out the plant markers, then do the planting.
Re: I don't remember planting this!
Then you have the reseeders. My son wound up with half a bed of lemon basil and a new crop of thai basil in the fall from spring crop reseeding.
I have some new chard plants in places I didn't plant chard. I expect I will have marigolds coming up in the spring from reseeding plants that were not kept deadheaded during the summer.

Re: I don't remember planting this!
Cilantro - I haven't planted cilantro in YEARS because it keeps coming back from reseeding itself! Last season (first year with SFG's) I let all the cilantro grow because someone said something about the flowers attracting pollinators. I had to keep pulling out cilantro SHRUBS because they were shading my other crops! Cilantro LOVES MM!
PS - anything that needed pollination had NO PROBLEMS - cilantro must work!
PSS - My first year MM had cilantro seeds because my old garden was a lasagna garden for several years - which means several years of sheet composting layered with peat. For my boxes I added all the new MM ingredients going heavy on the vermiculite and dug down into my old lasagna compost layers to mix the vermiculite with that and my new MM. All of my 6" boxes have at least another 6" of lasagna compost/MM below them as well (some are even deeper, because when I get a shovel in hand I go overboard ). All the cilantro seeds that were in my old lasagna beds were now in my new MM. It meant I had a few weed seeds as well, but they were SOOOOOOOOOO easy to pull and contain! I am so glad I have the extra depth as well, so I am ready for any crop, no matter how deep it needs to grow (read CARROTS).
