Netting for corn

Post  larkspur on 8/17/2011, 9:04 pm

I'm so grateful for Mel's idea in his book about using netting for your corn. So far this summer I thought it was probably overkill, but I went ahead and put the netting on. Probably waited a little too late, but it was good. Then two nights ago, we had a monster windstorm come through. In the morning I looked out the window and things looked ok. However, when I went outside, I could see the corn was not standing straight. We tightened up the netting a little and now the corn is straight again. If I didn't have the netting, I would most likely have flattened cornstalks! Thanks for everything, Mel!!!
