Newbie about to start SFG
Hello all, like bevmouse and camprn, I live in NH. I'm glad to see someone from NH on here!
I've never gardened before in my life and am very nervous, but SFG seemed to be the most foolproof option and I'm looking forward to it. I've read the whole 'All New' book and I'm putting together my plan. I'm hoping to plant in the next couple of weeks. Better late than never...
I have a question about some of the plants I want to grow, for which I couldn't find any information online or in the SFG book. I'm also open to getting an encyclopedia for specific plants if it has this kind of info in it (just not sure which book to get).
For the following plants, I want to know the spacing per square foot, and the growing season, like what's listed on the "At a Glance" page (p.192) in the book.
Chamomile
Dill
Eggplant
Grapes
Lavender
Mushrooms
Rosemary (I've read these need to be in pots)
Sage
Scallions
Shallots
I'd really appreciate the help!
P.S. I glanced at the 'backbone' thread and now I'm REALLY nervous! We have a composter started but it will be a while before it's ready so I was going to buy the bags.

Re: Newbie about to start SFG
LtTawneyMadison to the Forum from a two-month member and second-year SFG.
I still have lots to learn so I will be looking for the answers that I am sure will come soon.

Re: Newbie about to start SFG
Cannot offer ANY advice as I'm a newbie too. But and on [b]this thread scroll down to FurbalsMom's post... most straightforward I've found so far.
