tell me about trellises
I have most of my garden planted, but it seems that this year we all want things that are vining...
So, while I have a couple of trellises like those shown the the book, I would really like to do some other that are more aesthetically pleasing and could potentially go in the middle of a bed.
On top of that, I need to do it on the cheap, so buying a pretty trellis at a garden center won't work. What have you used for trellises?

You might try a forum search for trellis. There have been a lot of neat ideas and pictures posted. User acara has some really unique ones.
My ladder squash trellises are not aesthetically pleasing until the squash covers them, but they worked great, were made from scrap lumber and don't take up much space. We sure had a lot of people stop and ask about them! I've posted these pics before, but these should give you some ideas.
