SVB Eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!????????
I found SVB eggs on my patty pan squash this morning thanks to another's post. I found them on the upper sides of leaves and undersides of flower petels. I had been looking on the stems before because I had read some where else that was where to look . I looked very carefuly and hope I found them all.
Will spraying with BT help keep them from working their way into plant after hatching?

Definitely pick them off by hand as much as you can...and be thankful that you saw them!

You bet they were history. Now their spirits have returned as teeny, tiny grasshoppers

Here are the images of the squash vine borer eggs. I posted these in another thread, but I thought I would add them here as well. They are also in my forum gallery.
Here's the original thread where I posted them:

Good luck everyone in your battle against these evil squash vine borers! My season for them is coming up in June.

Re: SVB Eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!????????
I was sitting next to my squash plant watching it grow this morning and an adult came zooming in sounding much like a beetle or tiny helicopter. I shooded it away so vigeriously my lighter (yes I was smoking) flew out of my hand into one of the potted tom plants.

Re: SVB Eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!????????
I am usually smoking in the garden when it comes to bugs too, but not my cigs, from frustration. I keep an old paint can by my chair for my butts, no butts in the garden, in fact no smoking in the garden, unless it's me using the flame thrower for bug control.
