I live in st.johns county fl. and I think I would like to try growing seminole pumpkins on a trellis. Has anyone here grown them, are they too big for a SFG? It would be so fun to grow a native Fl. veg and since I don't follow sports....

I am a first time SFG'er in North FL....Not sure about the pumpkins, but I planted some anyway!! Jack O Lantern variety. The University of Florida has a table on their agricultural dept. website with a planting guide for Florida (breaks it down into North, Central and South) and also lists the best varieties of each veg. to grow in our climate. It has been really helpful to me! Good luck!!
