Has anyone else planted the Seminole pumpkin? I bought the seeds from SSE and planted a few in January. Two survived the rabbits and have now taken over the garden. My wife says they grow like Jack's magic bean stalk! There are over a dozen pumpkins on the vines so really looking forward to harvest time.
Also have some cantaloupes maturing on the trellis.

My cantaloupes usually dry off before I get any melons. I planted earlier this year and have been more observant for problems. I really hope a few melons make it to the table. I'm growing on a trellis this time.

Yes, I'm growing Seminole Pumpkins. My first time a couple of years ago I had a few good ones, and yes, they require a lot of space. But my last two attempts haven't worked out due to some moth larvae, and powder mildew. I'm making anoth and attempt, but the six seedlings are still pretty young.

I have a few pumpkins that are almost ripe. Really can't wait to see how they taste. I picked two cantaloupes yesterday, surprised how small they were but WOW what great flavor.
I started a weekly spray routing for the powdery mildew & caterpillar attacks. The looper caterpillar can be hand picked but the squash borer was more troublesome.
Neem oil, spinosid and a copper spray seem to be beating the evils back. The powdery mildew won out on the cukes, I had to give up on them until the fall
