Just found this forum yesterday. I'm super excited to learn from the pro's here. I started out with one 4x4 and this year I'm adding 3 more along with a 2x8. I'm concentrating on peas, broccoli, carrots and onions. I like to can so my goal is a years worth of veggies stockpiled.

Welcome Madnicmom.....
this is the right forum if you're a SFGr. I love it here. I learn from those that learned earlier but I also experiment and try new things. Its fun.
This will be my 3rd spring and I plan to start earlier this year with heavy row cover to assist against cold or frosty nites.
Good luck and enjoy. Its wonderful to eat those fresh, clean crops the day they are picked and with you being a canner, that's even better.

glad you\'re here Madnicmom
So glad to have you here. You will find lots of helpful members who love to discuss SFG, whether it is planning, planting, growing, pest or diseases. We also love to brag on what we have accomplished or commiserate when things do not go as well as expected (or Hoped for).

We I love you pictures!

Hello from North of Cincy. Empty welcome

Post  ander217 1/27/2011, 8:46 am

Welcome, Madnicmom. It's always great to welcome another canner to the forum. If you use the search feature, you'll find some very long discussions on that subject.

This will be our second year at SFG after decades of row gardening. We'll never go back to the old way. We're adding another 1' x 8' box this year against the fence, and we're making a 3' x 3' in a corner just for dill so it can reseed itself yearly.

You'll find the folks here very helpful with SFG questions and related issues. I learn something new nearly every day from the forum.

glad you\'re here

Howdy, Madnicmom!!

Yup, this is the place to learn about SFG. I haven't been here long myself, but have found everyone to be overlyhelpful.....obviously, a good thing.

My best friend from high school has lived in the Cincy area for close to 10 years now and loves it....even if he is becoming more of a Reds fan and shouts Who dey or Who dat, whichever, into the phone everytime we talk. Despite this, I see past his flaws.... Wink

You will definitely learn by asking around here. And, you will find that people are super willing to share. However, what really gets them juiced up.......pictures. They really are worth a thousand words, and are also inspirational in giving a person a new idea to incorporate into their own gardens.

Glad you're here.
