Hello from North MS
Hello everybody, I finally got my boxes (4 X 4) and (4 X 6) made and filled with Mel's mix. Planted various herbs, peppers, tomatoes, squash, cumcumber, eggplant and radishes. If anybody has any tips for my area please pass them along.

Hello from North MS
Hi mdwms25, & to the forum and to sfgardening! I'm on the Mississippi Gulf Coast - it's great to see a new Mississippian join in! Naturally, our gardening will be a bit different because you're from north MS & I'm from south MS. Be sure to check out our regional forums here when you get the chance - you'll be able to find fellow gardeners in your particular area who'll be very helpful with questions/problems/etc on your specific region.
Do you have Mel's book yet? I'm sure you'll use it as I do for constant reference, so if you don't have it yet, try to get it. Please post often and let us all know if you have questions or problems and just to keep us updated on your efforts. There are many more experienced gardeners than I (I'm in my first sfg year, too.) here who'll be happy to help! Post pics when you can - folks just love seeing what everybody else is doing sfgardening-wise! Hope to see you around the forum!

Wow, just look at you! Two boxes built, filled with Mel's Mix and planted too! That is truly great.
We on the far left coast are still waiting for our soil to warm up enough to plant anything other than cool weather crops.
Sherry has it right when she says we want to know how you are doing and that we pictures. We want to help, if we can, so keep us updated, post pictures and ask questions. Above all, Have Fun!

Re: Hello from North MS
So very glad to have ya!
+1 on making sure you get the All New SFG book!. It is essential to the method.
I see you have hit the ground running. That is fabulous! I like you enthusiasm.
If you have any more questions please feel free to ask them. We are always eager to help out fellow SFGers if we can.
Have you looked at the Coastal and Tropical South regional forum? You can find it by scrolling down the home page. Regional forums are a great place to get region specific information, ask regional questions, and generally get to know folks from your area. That would be a good place to start looking for tips for your region.
Take care and happy gardening.

Absolutely jump in your regional forum. Find others that live near you and gleen as much information from them as you can. They most likely can help you ID the huge bugs you will be sharing meals with down there.
Welcome aboard. I hope to see/hear more from you!
