Re: Situation in Hawaii
Thank you for bringing up Rosina. I just sent her an email and a PM. I like how folks watch out for each other.
Re: Situation in Hawaii
Rosina and I have been emailing each other. She can't post on the Forum right now so I will fix it when I return home Monday night.

Hawaii is back!!!
Mahalos to Sanderson for all her work getting me back on the forum. It took several tries and lots of perseverance on Sanderson's part but I'm back. I think the lesson is don't stay away too long or you get dropped out.
For all of you worried about we islanders, the volcano eruptions are on the Big Island and I live on Kauai. We get a bit of vog from the action but we have fairly clear skies these days.
Interesting. One of the reasons we moved from California was because of the smog. I think there is some perverse something or other going on although I prefer Madame Pele to LA traffic.
Our gardens got pretty beat up during severe rain here. Again, we are in the southern part of the county and the awful damage took place on the north shore - Hanalei, Wahniha, Haena. Several homes lost and lots of damage. So our lettuce got blasted but new lettuce is thriving as are our carrots and beets. Broccoli is not too bad although never as robust as we would like.
We are working with a gal named Jana Bogs from the Big Island to amend our soils to come up with "Beyond Organic" produce. A work in progress. Not for the faint of heart. A hell of a lot of work but I'm not the one who does all the measuring of amendments, etc. Very pricey also.
Thanks to all who missed me. I'll be back more routinely.
Aloha,
Kauairosina
