Double layer weed cloth/landscape fabric?
My roll of landscape fabric is exactly 4' wide. If I align the fabric edge with the outer edge of the frame, there's a 1½" wide gap on the opposite side inside the box. I thought about running a second layer along the back to cover that strip. That would mean that the middle 45" of the frame would have a double layer. I'm also considering a layer of cardboard under the fabric.
I should note that under all that is a lot of very sandy soil that had a lot of tough weeds. To level that soil I removed 1-3” of soil. So…a lot of the weeds were shoveled away, but with the Bermuda grass on our property and the other Godzilla-strength weeds we have I want to get a good jump on any weeds.
Bottom line: Is a double layer of landscape any problem?
Thanks for your time.

Re: Double layer weed cloth/landscape fabric?
No problem with 2 layers overlapping! Hopefully the area for the beds is NOT below grade, now, after all the shoveling??
Re: Double layer weed cloth/landscape fabric?
Thanks. No, it's above grade. The grade sloped so I just leveled it off.
2 layers it is!

Re: Double layer weed cloth/landscape fabric?
We used 2 layer of landscape fabric with newspapers AND cardboard boxes between the layers. Worked fine.
