I had it last summer, panicked, looked it up, found out it was harmless, then ignored it. It went away after a week or so and never came back.

I had this repulsive looking stuff the first year I put down wood chips.  I read up about it and I have never had it since, even when laying down fresh wood chips.

I found a clump of this stuff in my compost bin several months ago.  Fortunately, from my meanderings here, I knew what it was and wasn't unduly alarmed.
