There is Fungus Among Us
When using wood chips for ground cover around the raised beds, it is not unusual to see various type for fungi from the decomposing wood. But, this one is the most unique I have ever seen. It is called Slime Mold, and it actually moves along on the surface of the chips as is feeds. It tends to look disgusting, but is actually part of the beneficial life cycle of decomposing organic matter.

Went out to check the squash that were planted in the BTE garden, and discovered a new batch of mushrooms growing after the last 3 days of rain. Nature at its best!
While walking back through the raised bed gardens, I noticed that some Slime Mold was trying to eat some of my Banana Peppers. The mold is growing on the straw that was used to mulch the plants.
