All I Want For Christmas....Holiday Garden Wish List!
Kelejan and I were dreaming over in the Compost thread, I want tools for Christmas, power screwdriver specifically. And this nifty set-up, so I can start my seeds indoors myself this winter:

This is what I want - an Aerogarden Bounty
Oh wait, I just bought it for myself as an early Christmas present.

Re: All I Want For Christmas....Holiday Garden Wish List!
I told DH what I'd really like is a REAL compost area. (Only a gardener....)
Shelving & lights would be good too. But I'm not sure where in the garage we'd have room...

Re: All I Want For Christmas....Holiday Garden Wish List!
I bought one several years ago and it is in my living room giving me a nice bit of light to keep the blues away. I grow herbs as I think that is the best return on one's efforts.yolos wrote:This is what I want - an Aerogarden Bounty

I think mine will go in the basement. I am hoping to get the lights and shelves for under $150ish.

SR, When I first read this, I thought you were going to be putting the compost cage in the basement.Scorpio Rising wrote:AtlantaMarie wrote:I told DH what I'd really like is a REAL compost area. (Only a gardener....)

I want nothing for Christmas .
But ......
I'll have to wait for the four wheeled plastic bodied water tight ,metal chassis-ed garden trailer with a front wheel turn table that is sitting in its box unassembled out in the log cabin cum office for it to be wrapped up in silly paper and given to me on Christmas morning instead of having it now when I want to use it .
Same will happen with a book I have time to read right now .
However I don't know how things will pan out for my birthday on 21 Dec , as there is an awful lot of sudden silences between my Munchkin & wife ..... occurring as I move about the home to with in earshot .

You remind me of Howard in "Last of the Summer Wine".
I feel you pain with regard to the first item.

What, pray tell, is the water tight plastic bodied 4 wheeled metal chassis garden trailer? Sounds awesome!

It sounds like my plastic wheel barrow but on four wheels. My plastic wheelbarrow is parked under the edge of my shed roof where the rainwater drips down into it.

I have an older Aerogarden model, the Ultra. It was an early birthday present from me to me and I love it. It has been awesome for seed starting. I used it in late summer for starting my winter vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, arugula, onions, shallots, etc and now I'm using it to start my warm season plants, eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, etc. it's done so well that I end up with extra plants and have to give them away to my coworkers. Which has lead to the start of new gardens.

T'is ebay item # 13071110338 .
We saw one in action a few weeks ago and as I'm often on crutches it's going to be a lot easier to pull whilst on one crutch than it is trying to push a single or double wheeled barrow when it is full .
The other advantage is that I should be able to get four of my lardg tomato tubs in it in one go . I'll also to be able to put plants in it that need a daily hardening off for a few days and wheel them back into the glasshouse at night with ease.
That's what I told , " Santa in fishnets " anyway .

Arrived in AZ two days ago and already miss the dead and frozen garden. Going shopping this morning for my Christmas present (to myself), something to grow. Thinking of herbs and such because the nights are chilly, down to 31 degrees this morning.

John, Have you been able to make the repairs to the house?
Re: All I Want For Christmas....Holiday Garden Wish List!
What I'd like for Christmas is for Santa to send over some elves to clean out my boxes, mix in some compost and then cover them with seaweed.

I'll like some pots and mel's mix for them. Also if its not to much to ask for I would like my apartment to get more sun light so I can grow plants in said pots. Since we moved in about a month ago we have gotten no direct sunlight.

That's like me, no sun for about four months of the year. I intend to get myself some grow lights and put them in the living room to brighten up my home.
You could try some natural light tubes or something.

I need those elves to terrace/level my slope so I can assemble the self wicking tabletops I want. I have some beds but need to build the bases. Five years ago I was able to do it all by myself, but not now. Tried to hire a local teen, but he never showed up.

Kay, you might have to call landscapers. Having 3 teens myself, they are unpredictable and easily distracted helpers!

Sanderson we are all complete except for painting. I completely primed all the walls before I left three weeks ago so it is livable and looks fine until we pick (as if I had any say on color) the wall color. Got my planted herbs for my Christmas present to self so I am happy.
