N&C Midwest January 2015
So, fellow 's, have you ordered your seeds yet? If you are new to the region, remember that you need to order seeds and plants well ahead of planting season, otherwise our temperate and tropical gardener friends may have already cleaned out the supply of that one special variety that you absolutely MUST have in your garden!

Thank you, that was just the little kick I needed to hear.
I received all the catalogs and didn't give a thought to gardeners in warmer places probably ordering like mad already.

GG - I guess you're suggesting that I need to work on that a bit, huh...
And, thanks a lot, LLM! Just what I need to start my day... a smack upside the head!

Currently -30 windchill, with snow coming tomorrow. So you can see why we Arcticans could temporarily forget about the race to order seeds before they are all sold out for the season!

Good thing...
But we ARE talking about my head. That's probly the safest place to smack me since it's so hard, lol!

After this week's weather, sowing onion and leek seeds inside will be extra enjoyable today. Hot pepper seeds will follow in a week or so.

I saw a sign of spring today! Definitely reddish buds on our red maple tree! And if Mother Nature is incredibly kind to me i can plant the first planting of lettuce in just over a month!
