Re: Polar Vortex
We got 1.4" of rain yesterday (24 hour total). It is overcast and cool - in the low 80s. This kind of weather is unheard of in these parts at this time of year. I've been in Texas for 20+ years and never experienced such a moderate period in late Spring, early Summer.

Re: Polar Vortex
We set a record low temp on Tuesday (I think Tuesday, could have been Monday or Thursday).

Re: Polar Vortex
We are going into our hottest days of the year so far. Projected 92 (which doesn't sound so bad) but at 7 am we already had 87% humidity. Thunderstorms forecast for tonight which will wet everything down in time for the 90+ tomorrow and the severe T-storms forecast for tomorrow night.

It's a sauna
Wow... I was outside spraying some BT Thuricide (caterpillars are getting a little out of control), and it was so hot and humid that when I came in, I had to change my t-shirt because it was drenched. We had some heavy rain... my poor fungus ridden tomatoes...

Yolos, that day was awesome. It was like a pleasant, balmy, breezy, and most importantly... dry... autumn day. Wish we had more days like that!

Re: Polar Vortex
We had drips and drizzles off and on all day. Our fungus woes are just going to get worse. But my compost piles are loving it. They were real dry and I have been stirring them up every day for the last three days trying to get them wet all throughout.Windmere wrote:Wow...
