Re: Stevia
That sounds like me trying to grow cumin and thyme.markqz wrote:I haven't any luck with stevia. Once more into the breach!
This time the seeds are from Johnny's seeds. They're depressingly honest, telling me that the germination rate is 67%. That translates to 10% in Mark years.
Re: Stevia
Your stevia reminds me of my oregano and lavender. I would hack off side shoots or pull up oregano side roots to try to keep them polite. They were so rude to their neighbors that they ended up in pots.markqz wrote:Under the right conditions, whatever they are, stevia becomes a bush-like thing. Here I've trimmed a quarter of the branches (which are in the dehydrator) and the plant is leaning heavily into its neighbor's squares.
Stevia vs. Oregano
I've got some Oregano going now, and I see what you mean.sanderson wrote:Your stevia reminds me of my oregano and lavender. I would hack off side shoots or pull up oregano side roots to try to keep them polite. They were so rude to their neighbors that they ended up in pots.
I have to ask myself, do I like oregano that much?

Stevia Harvest 2023
Here's the last of the dried Stevia for the year. A dried leaf has a momentary, "green" bitter taste, followed by an explosion of sweet that lasts for a long time.
