Greenhouse at Lowes $179
I saw this decent looking 6' W x 8' L green house at Lowe's today (California) for $179. Fiber-reinforced plastic with what felt like metal poles. Zippered doors at both gable ends, 2 roll-up windows on both sides. Gosh, I would like to have it but I don't have the room. Mine is 4' x 4' = 16 sq ft,; this is 48 sq ft.

I saw that and it looked nicely made.
I'm going to buy a shelf style mini greenhouse to put inside of my larger green house for growing starts in. I found the double greenhouse concept worked really well for me last year.
The one I am looking at is only $39 I think.

Re: Greenhouse at Lowes $179
I bought my son 2 of these in fall 2012. He used them that winter and last winter with electric heaters inside. 2012 worked out fine, but this past winter was too cold for the heater to keep up. But he managed to keep some peppers and 1 orchid alive. It did extend his pepper season considerably. He likes them and they seem to be fairly sturdy.

Audrey, how did you manage the little greenhouse inside the larger greenhouse? Is your larger one unheated, I am guessing? I actually have an unheated one, and just got a small one for inside! Go figure!

I have pictures in this thread:
https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t16833p90-the-winter-journey-and-greenhouse-plastic?highlight=greenhouse
There are some on page 7 and more on page 6 so you can see more of what it looks like.
My greenhouse is 10 x 20. I have a 4x4 table top that has a mini greenhouse set up on it (frame and plastic cover) and a 5 x 10 raised bed that has a modified cover made of permanent survival blankets sewn together suspended from a rigged frame.
I ran a small, low temp heater under the survival blankets on the coldest nights. It would only need to run a couple minutes every couple hours due to the incredible heat retaining ability of the foil.

Looks very nice. Very much like the one I saw at Bi-Mart for considerably less, though. Sometimes those things go on incredible sales. Other times the prices seem crazy high. It's a market to keep looking over for a good while to get a feel for the pricing, I guess.

Here's a homemade one (about 12 x 16) that I built on the south side of my house for less than $100. I replace the plastic each year for around $20.

Pollinator, Thanks for reposting. I remember it, but Newbies may not have run across the topic.
Marc, I think they are on sale now so they don't have to store them until next winter. Making room for the Turbo Grills!

Close-outs are great. Places like Big Lots are a great place to look, too.

Hmmm. I may have to do this at my son's house and bring one of the freestanding units home with me. I can't use this method on my vinyl siding, but his house is brick.
