lucky!! I went to our Lowe's. Asked if they had any clearance stuff. No, we sold it all. OK...I said, "do you have any garlic?" the guy says, "yes" and takes me to the daffodil bin..........I said that's daffodils, not garlic. He just shrugged his shoulders... So...steering off the road a little:

This is why I try to avoid the box stores...yes, they have better prices usually. But they train their people to look at people without looking at them (1,000 yard stare) so they don't get asked for help, and when you finally do corner one and ask about a product...wait for it...

They take the product out of your hand and read the label.

"And I was totally wondering what all those little squiggly marks meant! Thanks!"

mmmm...daffodil pesto.

A bit off topic maybe, but since you were speaking of Lowes. Lowe's wouldn't cut the electrical conduit I bought from them for my trellises for my 3 new sfgs. They certainly didn't win any points with me for that!

But I did get my trellises built - hubby used a hacksaw to cut the conduit. I'm not saying they're perfect cause they came out a bit uneven in height - probably mostly due to the fact the ground has a few dips in it. But they should work fine and I'm still proud of them even if not perfect! Very Happy

Don't tell my hubs, but I actually used his his large table saw to cut my conduit. Worked fast, smooth and even. Just wear protective gear and make sure its rotating away from you to avoid any shards. He was worried about the blade going dull from it, but the conduit is so thin that cutting only a few poles didn't phase anything. Smile

Back to on topic though....I'm off to hunt for some local garden discounts. I want me some berries! Lowes again 211713 Never thought of growing Kiwi, but we LOVE it...so off to research that too! study
