Is it too late for peas in 7b?
I just planted some Progress 9 Peas last week and they have sprouted. Is it too late though, will they survive the heat? If there's a chance I will leave them in, if not, I would rather pull them out now and use the space for something else and wait till fall. I guess I thought they were planted like beans....oh well, live and learn!
TIA,
Rebecca

What are your temperatures like now? Many people do successive plantings so you may still be safe if it's not too hot. Progress 9 peas are bush peas and are mature in about 60 days. Water by soaking but avoid getting the leaves wet.
Best of luck.

Oh, Hail.
I hope it's not too late! I just put in a 2nd square of sugar snaps this past weekend. Our temps in SC have been holding fairly cool since our one 87 day on April 2... the cabbage, broccoli & brussels sprouts seem to be liking it - and thanks to being in the rain shadow of the house held up well under our first hailstorm today. Temps are still in the low 40's at night.

i think you should be fine with your peas. My 4 year old "planted" some a week ago and they are growing happy here with my 50 degree temp swings every day
