Is this an egg of some sort?

We have had incessant winds with low 100 degree weather. Also, all these plants are in large pots. I would appreciate any help in identifying the problems and how to treat them.

Tomatos look like early blight. And the splitting fruit is caused by the tomato suddenly growing too fast for its skin. Still edible. I've seen this a lot when the temps are high and the soil drys out and then is given a lot of water. Try watering more often so the pots don't dry out.

A fungicide may help the tomatos hang around long enough to continue producing. That's what I'm doing. But I personally am also planting a second round of plants now so when my blight stricken tomatos give up, I'll have secondary plants to tide me over until frost.

When I looked at the pics up close I thought I saw white flys and powdery mildew. Those should respond to spraying with Neem, or a garlic, oil, soap spray.
Neem at least is supposed to help with blights but I have no personal experience with that. Good luck..

I am giving my opinion and not diagnosing the problems. The best place to ask is at your local County Extension Service office.

The black lesions on the tomato look possibly like anthracnose or it could possibly be blight. What do the parent plants look like? Are the parent plants the dried up ones... That looks like a wilt of some sort. The pepper looks like it may have a virus. Do you have any insect pests on the peppers?

Being in the desert is a pain for the plants. Since they are in pots, I'd move them, if you can, in the shade, and somewhere where the wind might not hit them all the time.

Try watering more often, possibly will help with the tomato splitting.

Tomato blight, well I don't know, mine have this too, maybe a fungicide? Get some more plants to replace?

The peppers look like they have been eaten on. If you don't see bugs during the day, check at night. Even the bugs will hide from the wind and heat. Treatment depends on what bugs you find. And, that looks like an egg, but, I have no idea what. Are you getting any peppers?

I Need Help Identifying Garden Problems 109486

Thanks everyone. We live in the boonies so no gardening help anywhere close by. The pepper plant has not produced any peppers yet because the wind keeps blowing the blossoms off. I made a make shift shade for the plants so that they only get morning sun and are as protected as they can be from the wind. I water every morning. Are you suggesting I water again in the late afternoon, early evening? I have seen horn worms and huge grasshoppers and try to pick them off as soon as I find them. Is blight a result of improper watering? I am getting ready to plant my first sfg. I have it in a place where it only gets a few hours of sun; shade most of the day. Any suggestions on what to plant here?
