I have 9 per square but I don't grow to full size. I'm putting my corn in those squares this weekend. 4 per square and pick the outer leafs as they get big works well.

Most lettuce is 4 to a square. I plant 5 in a dice formation and pluck off the outside row of leaves frequently.

I'm still not sure I understand lettuce. Embarassed I broad cast planted 2 squares - it is DENSE. But they don't seem to care. I pulled out a few here and there, but otherwise they are growing amazingly well. I'd say just toss those seeds out and see what happens! Smile

I agree with the 4 per square but some stuff works well differently for other people. In the future if you ever have another veggie that thins to 8" it is 2 planted kitty corner from each other Very Happy

Thanx everyone for your replies. I'll try one with 4 and one with the two kitty corner just to see what they will do in this neck of the woods. Very Happy
