Lowes will be carrying Mel's Mix. The bad news is that not every Lowes will have it. Go online to www.lowes.com and search for "squarefootgardeningsoil". Then put in your ZIP code and they will tell you if it is available near you.

My local Lowes does not carry it. I talked to Customer Service at Lowes headquarters. Someone from the local Lowes called me back. I peaded. He explained that the buyers often make deals with suppliers -- he gave me Miracle Grow as an example -- that a district will carry only their stuff. I pleaded some more. I explained the growing search for this product.

He is going to talk to the buyer and search surrounding states to see if any other district has it.

Addendum: just got another call back from Marty at Lowes. BooHoo. The closest store that carries it is in TEXAS!!!! Good news for Texans. Pass the word.

not in Lufkin or Jasper Texas stores?????????????????????

okay I found ITem number23644 All New Square Foot Gardening mix with Mel's photo on the front for 17.99 a bag I think that's 2CUft. bags at lowes in Jasper the website showed it out of stock but the store said they have it.:)it's being on Clearnce at lowes

It looks like you may be missing a number in your item number. When I go to the Lowe's website and do a search on "Square Foot Gardening" the search will pull up the "All New Square Foot Gardening" book with an item number of 236440 and a price of $17.99.

HOWEVER, when I searched the Jasper store for item # 308781 it does pull up Garden Time Square Foot Garden Soil at $12.98 per 2 CF bag. So it looks like they do have it in Jasper.

yep I must have missed a number should have been a 6 digit number my bad,also when you search change your zip code to get another store if your not finding it I found the All New Square Foot Gardening mix from the Garden Time search at the Jasper store I'm headed there this afternoon to get about 10 bags

My Lowe's used to carry it, but now I can't seem to find it. I called their Customer Service and they let me know that it's still an active item, just doesn't look like I have any "in my district". She did give me the number to have it drop shipped, but I'll have to wait before I call...thought I'd share it in case anyone was looking:

800-445-6937, choose option 4, then option 3...you're looking for item # 308781 (as stated above).
