Thanks all. These were easy. I just planted in October, and added some fertilizer in the spring. And no, the voles didn't want any of these.

Beautiful garlic everyone!! I didn't realize there were so many varieties to choose from, so I'll definitely explore these for fall, which I now realize is the proper time for planting. silly me

I have a question though. I planted my first SFG this year and got a bit carried away with planting things. I planted garlic in May, not knowing that it should have been planted in the fall. Should I just leave them in the ground until next spring/summer, or should I harvest them this fall/winter, and then put a new batch in the ground?

Love yours Squat. Lovely harvest.

Here's mine drying out.

I've put them in the shade in the workshop which is kept open all day so the air circulation goes thru and out the garages.

You can harvest them when the tops yellow and begin to fall over. I also planted this spring and will replant in the fall.

Hey everyone, not sure if someone has already posted this or not. But www.wegrowgarlic.com sent me an email saying their garlic is ready for sale. They aren't selling individual bulbs this year but rather in batches of 5, I just ordered 2 different types, a hard neck and a soft neck just to try it out!
