Greetings,
The weather is getting better--no more three degree nights--so am off to find some plants for our SFG. Built six last year, didn't have much success with the winter crop of lettuce, brock, cali; so will start with traditional suite of characters. Will dedicate one box to herbs, so need to get started. Going to get the whole prepping situation, so will start canning and dehydrating with this year's harvest.

Welcome!

I haven't been on as much lately and completely missed your post. I like to see action on the SW desert area!

How are things going? Did you get thing planted. I wish you luck on getting plenty to can this year. I just got a pressure canner for my birthday and can't wait to begin canning stuff from the garden.

Hi neighbor! I'm in Las Cruces. Six gardens, WOW. I have room for only 2 TT gardens. (Bad back) Have 2 huge Mulberry trees in the back yard. Those big boys shade almost the entire yard. Sorry to hear about your winter crops. We did have a crazy winter. I started broc and caul 3/11. Heads are kind of small, but the flavor makes up for the size. Going to try carrots and onions in a 10" deep TT this year. I'm reading that TT's have a problem with wind blowing under them cooling down the soil. Hopefully, the 10" depth will take care of that.

You're in NE El Paso so the mountains probably stop most of the wind, right? I'm in the Mesilla Vally, not far from the Rio Grande. Wind? Wow, have we had some this spring. Seen Deming pass through more than once. We have a real problem with the lack of humidity. By noon the soil has really dried out. I'm watering every other day with about a quart of water on each sq ft. (Water restrictions) Is really making a difference though.

Hope your spring crops are successful.
