Mealybugs?

Mealybugs?
The parsley in the greenhouse has become infested with small green sucking insects that I think are most likely Mealybugs. I mixed up some mint scented Castile soap and sprayed the plant this evening to see if that reduces their population. If it doesn't slow them down, I might add some Neem Oil with the soap to see if that gets better control.
Are these Mealybugs?

Re: Mealybugs?
Yes, I believe so. I lost a rosemary plant to them 2 years ago.

You mean like this? Or does Rosemary refer to more than one plant?
I didn't think anything could kill it. There was a sprig of Rosemary stolen off a hedge and popped into a clay pot. Sometimes water gets dumped on it. I don't know what the status of the pot is, but assume it has been broken up.

Re: Mealybugs?
Checked the parsley today, and the mealybugs were gone after the spraying with Castile soap. I'm going to spray them again in 4 or 5 days to get any that hatch out from eggs left behind.

Re: Mealybugs?
So Mark, is that plant outside? Ours would die if left outside here. Mine got something on it (mites?) and I pitched it because I am not going to treat something I eat with a possibly toxic Neem oil. Got a new one. This one is currently inside….we will see. Not loving the indoors too much.

Re: Mealybugs?
It's so hard to tell from a photo. The mealy bugs that infested my summer peppers were classic looking mealy bugs. I had to treat with rubbing alcohol, which parsley probably can't handle. Please let us know if Dr. Bronner's works as it is one of the more gentle treatments for pests. Photo of my mealy bugs on pepper plants.

Yes, the Dr. Bronner's got rid of them overnight. I mixed 1 Tbsp with a quart of water, gently swirled to prevent sudsing, and sprayed the plant. The next day all of the mealybugs were gone. The plant really perked up afterwards. I'm going to spray it again in 4 or 5 days to control any eggs that hatch.
