I believe leaf hoppers are all bad guys. TD, can you snap a photo straight down?
Re: can you identify this insect
No luck finding it today so far. Maybe it has hopped the hedge into the neighbour's row garden.sanderson wrote:I believe leaf hoppers are all bad guys. TD, can you snap a photo straight down?

That is it. Already killed it but now I should search for eggs. I hate bugs.
Update:
I inspected the underside of leaves and found bunches of eggs under three leaves. I removed them using duct tape and then squished them.

Green insect on tomato
This critter has been hanging out on my remaining Cherokee tomato. Any thoughts?

Looks like the fifth instar nymph of the southern green stink bug, which sucks the juices out of fruits & vegetables.

Oh great. I thought it was just the tomatoes, but then while cleaning my lettuce leaves off I found another. I've treated the tomato with spinosad. I'm thinking of using diamaceous earth spray on the lettuce.OhioGardener wrote:Looks like the fifth instar nymph of the southern green stink bug, which sucks the juices out of fruits & vegetables.

Darn, and it's such a pretty bug. It goes through such different looking stages that it could slip past scrutiny.
