Ancient SFG in Egypt?!?
WHaaaaa? Look at the photo of what they found in Luxor, Egypt!

That sure looks like an ancient SFG garden to me. It's got grids. It's 4,000 years old. The sides of each square are closer to a foot and a third, but maybe they had bigger feet back then
It even has two 'top hat' squares!

Re: Ancient SFG in Egypt?!?
Very interesting Beetles.
They say "30 cm2 beds". Converting 30 centimetres to inches we get 11.8 inches. Close enough to SFG spacing. If we take the size of the bed as they 2 metres by 3 metres and the number of rows 5x7 then the size of each square is closer to a foot and a third. I assume the 30 cm dimension is the inside dimension of each square. The walls between the squares appear to be quite thick.

Looks like a waffle garden. That is a way of gardening still used in the Middle East and the American South West.

Oh, this is DEFINITELY going on the SFG Foundation Facebook page!
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
