I have 20 squares in this box, on April 1st I planted 80 yukon gold seed potato's, ( 4 to a square )  every one came up.
Just before I took this picture May 8 2015 I added about a gallon of compost to each square, ( yes a gallon )
I need to get some updated pics, however they haven't grown much higher.  An old potato farmer told me to start on the 4th of July, dig down and feel around for whats needed...In the fall I am going to plant garlic here.

Those are beautiful.  I do not see any diseased leaves.  Mine look like crap and are just withering away.  But I did pull some and the potatoes are there, not great big, but sufficient for my purposes.

I wanted to thank everyone for their advice. I did dig around and never found a potato. Just decided to find out what I have in the one bucket and look - potatoes! They were all at the bottom so obviously determinate (I planted these from a single red organic grocery store potato). Very happy! My other 2 towers also can't produce potatoes from digging around (they are Carolas that I planted from seed potatoes, but I can't find info on determinate or not). Anyway, for my first time, I am happy. I know they probably won't keep well -- any advice on how to use them all? Thanks you guys are the best!

Roast the big ones with other veggies from your garden, including tomatoes, with oil, salt and pepper, and replant the marbles. Very Happy

Wish I had read this before we ate the marbles! DH loved them. So can I replant soon in Southern California? I still have 2 buckets of Carolas but plan to leave them longer now that I see it really can be done! I love this site and SFG!bounce
