SO excited for Spring!
Hey all! My name is Jenny, and I'm pretty new to Square Foot Gardening. I've read the latest edition of Mel's book (my husband surprised me and bought it for me after I read and re-read the one from the library! Such a good man...) and I am SO excited to get started! I am so in love with this system- it makes so much sense. After I read the book I planned out exactly what I am going to plant and what my garden will look like. I have most of my seeds, and all the lumber for the boxes...now I'm just waiting for our tax return to come in a couple weeks so I can finish buying supplies I already have a bunch of baby plants in my window (broccoli, cauliflower, onions, herbs, etc.) that can't wait to get outside! And after giving it some thought, I decided to sign up for the Online Certification Course so I can teach the Square Foot Gardening method to everyone I know I have been row gardening for a few years, with not-so-good results, so I am anxious to try an alternative method- and I hope to help the people in my area become more self-sufficient and achieve healthier lifestyles through square foot gardening. I am also hoping to put together some classes that will involve children- I have 3 kids and I want them to not only learn how to garden, but to be comfortable showing kids their ages how to do it as well. What a great way to get kids excited about vegetables, right??

I so admire your enthusiasm and I too am getting excited about spring.
So glad your DH bought you the book and that you are reading it and getting motivated.
Don't forget to make a start on your compost as it is most important.
Look forward to following your progress.
