Since the packet says to space 6" apart, does this mean I can plant four per square? My father feels that this would be too many per square.

I grew purple hulls last year and planted 3'' in all directions. It worked out pretty well. However, I am growing my cowpeas in a more traditional row method because the purple hulls have a tendency to grow all over.
