Seed spacing template
Hello all,
I just saw this on Pinterest. It is a template that is made out of plywood to help with spacing seeds inside your squares. I think I am going to ask my BIL to fabricate one out of material that is more durable and lasting.

I was just thinking the same thing.

The routed edges make those look so professional! What a neat idea for the larger holes, so that you could plant transplants with your template too!
I've had that other one with the handle bookmarked for some time now. There are definitely merits to both systems. May have to do them both.
As far as durability, did you see at the bottom she's started painting hers? Even without painting, brush off the dirt after use and store it somewhere dry and there's no reason they wouldn't last for years and years.

Re: Seed spacing template
I tried planting templates made from cardboard a couple years ago and it seemed when I needed them, I was always forgetting to bring them out and needed to make another trip to the garage for them. I got tired of the running.
Saw Mel's video on how he marks his planting spots, by drawing lines in the square to divide into 4, 9, or 16 segments and just popping his fingers in the soil in the middle of the drawn squares. My finger is my template now. Easy, peasy. Nothing else needed.

Re: Seed spacing template
I'm fortunate that my son used to work at Fast Signs and gave me scraps of corrugated plastic which I cut into squares just a little smaller than 1' (so they fit inside the grid.
I can't remember if I used paddle bits or hole saw drill bits to make holes in them. Make sure you have a sacrificial board under the plastic so you don't ruin whatever is under the plastic (table, deck, sidewalk, etc.)
LOL can't locate them right now so I can't snap pictures.

I had considered "recycling" a few of the zillion plus signs that are posted on every street around elections, as a source for the same kind of plastic. Instead, I went by Home Depot and picked up a 2' x 4' sheet of plywood for about five bucks.
It was easy to manage at that size, it provided six squares and was easy to cut out the various patterns with a hole saw. I also use a similiar design as a thread above for making impressions in the soil, but used pieces of dowel and did not apply a handle, using a simple kitchen knob instead.
