July Update in the C&T South - Page 2 Empty Re: July Update in the C&T South

Sounds like we're all getting hit hard by the bad bugs. Luckily, I haven't seen any leaf-footed bugs the last couple days. Of course, that probably means they're hiding out in my cukes where I can't find them easily.

A few weeks back, we kept finding these little roundish beetle looking bugs in the eggplants and beans. So I sent my oldest to look it up, since I didn't know if they were good or bad. They turned out to be globular stinkbugs (Megacopta cribraria), which are an invasive pest here in GA. (The usual scenario...brought in to control kudzu, but they're destroying soybeans.) I emailed my extension office, and they asked for photos, which I sent. Come to find that mine was the first report of these little buggers in our county. Not good, as that means they're spreading, so I'm really glad I decided to get in contact with them.

Hmmm I haven't seen the globs in a while either, but they're pretty slow so maybe I got them all. Now those, I will pick up because they aren't all alien looking. LOL
