Hi - I'm starting my first 4 x 4 SFG garden in Seattle, WA, and would love to hear from other Seattleites or Western Washingtonians. It's nearly summer and I just bought the soil ingredents...any suggestions on what to grow this late (June)? Do I need to buy plants versus seeds? Have many of you added vertical gardening? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey! Hi! We do not even need to great each other under an umbrella.

It is not too late to plant beans from seed. You can also start cucumbers, corn (if you have enough room, corn likes to grow in big blocks if it is going to make actual corn instead of decorations), beats, brussels sprouts (plant now, eat for fall and early winter holidays) chard, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and even some melons. You get to choose if you want to start from seed or plants but if you want a tomato or two, choose a plant. Same with peppers.

Are you going to do vertical gardening? I've seen it on utube and in magazines. Way kewl.
