Need help identifying type of lettuce
I received the Master Chef Blend Lettuce from Park Seed for free with my order. I am not a big lettuce person, but I thought I would try my hand at it and give it away to friends. What could it hurt, right?
Apparently, I am pretty good at growing lettuce. Could someone tell me what I am growing?
The mix included the following types:
Brunia -- 50 days. The sweetest loose-leaf, with striking red-and-green leaves.
Simpson Elite -- 48 days. A delicately-flavored loose-leaf, very crinkled and curled, with great holding ability.
Green Ice -- 45 days. Extra-crisp, savoyed loose-leaf that harvests well into summer.
Buttercrunch -- 65 days. The classic butterhead (Boston), with thick, juicy, crunchy leaves.
Sierra -- 55 days. A terrific Romaine (Cos) with thick, crisp green leaves with reddish-bronze edges. Great heat resistance.
Red Sails -- 45 days. This AAS winner is the tastiest red-leaf loose-leaf we have ever grown.

Those fluffy, curley red leafed plants look just like my red sails, which is holding up well in the heat that is starting.

Re: Need help identifying type of lettuce
Red Sails is the red stuff, obviously, but probably the stuff on the bottom left. Buttercrunch is likely the stuff in the bottom of the square in the middle between the Red Sails. Simpson Elite is the top right and bottom right, almost a yellow-green (and my favorite). That stuff I am fairly sure about.
My guess would be the oaky leafed stuff in the top left is your Green Ice. Brunia and Sierra I can't help with at all.
But, you are right. You are good at growing lettuce. Now, get that salad going. I cut way before you, apparently...lol.

Thanks!!! Like I said, I am not a big lettuce person. So I really didn't have a clue. As for the weather, here in TN, it has been very odd. Some weeks we are in the 80s, some in the 60s. Right now it is 63F, with a high of 71F.

Same with us weather wise.
I wasn't good with lettuce, either. But, I've never bought a mix. I've always grown things separately. And, that way you learn pretty quick.
