lunar planting
I am going to put Lunar planting to the test. I will plant one blue lake bush bean tomarrow doring the waxing moon and one the day after the full moon as the moon starts to wain to see if the bean plant that was planted during the waxing moon really does do better. Other varibles will be kept to a minimum ie watering exposure ect. Anyone want to join me :?: Just plant two plants from the same seed pack one during the waxing moon and one during the waining moon. Keep track of when they sprout, flower, fruit and yeild. Should be fun.

I'm always up for doing trials and just for fun challenges. Now meself I can't see that it will make much difference in the long term when there are so many other uncontrollable variables involved out in the harsh reality of the garden but I can sow something.

Cool, I know it is an old wives tale but some of those old wives were pretty smart. I am trying to keep the other vairibles to a min. but temp is just one of many I have little control over for example.

Re: lunar planting
Duh, I've just realised that lunar planters use different moon phases for different types of plants / crops and I'm not planting beans so I can't compare like with like with you. Sorry.

Re: lunar planting
I should have explained This is from ehow
"Garden during the new moon. For the best results, plant seeds and flowers that bloom or produce above ground during the new moon. For farmers, this is the best time to sow fields with grains and corns. It is also the best time to plant crops such as asparagus, Brussels sprouts and broccoli. Fruits like tomatoes should be planted during the new moon
Plant during the waning moon. Root vegetable will thrive when planted during the waning moon. Plant onions, turnips, beets and potatoes during the waning moon and reap the rewards of a strong harvest.

Re: lunar planting
Oh,
I also ment to say no need to "compare like with like" just compare the plantings you choose with each other.
