This is very, very late but better late than never......I guess.

Thank you everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes. Those were totally over the top!!! I meant to get on later that day but too many phone calls, too much cake and ummmmmmmm......truth be told......a bit too much wine... Embarassed .......my typing was too incoherant.

The next day we decided that we would leave right after work and go spend a couple of days with my nephew and his girlfriend. It was the one year anniversary of the death of her/their 15-yr. old son that was killed a year ago in a freak ski accident. We came back to a flooded garage that needed to be dealt with and overtime at work for me since my boss is on holidays. Yesterday my plan was to get on here and get caught up but things didn't work out that way. The basement flooded. So here I am in the middle of a huge mess and I have decided that it can just stay there today. If I didn't have to go to work in an hour I might have some more wine! LOL!

Thanks again all of you.

Love and hugs to everyone. I am officially 60 years old.

Just goes to show you, if it's not one thing, it's another. I sure you you get things settled soon, and there is no water damage.

Life is what happens when you make other plans. LOL! There is always a silver lining to every cloud. Thankfully, we were home when the flooding started in the house. Had it happened while we were away at work or last week while we were out of town, things would have been a lot worse. Damage is minimal because of that even for the wall. We had to move a lot of things so my tiny house is at bit crazy at the moment. However, it is not the end of the world. We will see how well the wall dries out. I am blessed to have two awesome customers at work that specialize in flood and fire restoration and I know they will let me borrow a couple of big fans and moisture meters to help with drying out the wall. This morning it looks like the water at least isn't getting any deeper but then it was not thawing overnight either. Out in the garage, we had to get some tools and toolboxes up off the floor and get them wiped down so they won't rust.

And the sun is shining........I am so happy!!

Do you perhaps have a broken pipe in the wall somewhere?

No. That wall has no pipes at all in it. The floor is dry this afternoon and the lake in the street has disappeared. Water is flowing nicely down the street the way it should. It was a beautiful day. It feels like spring but it will be a few weeks yet. I can see one small corner of my cold frame.
