I am not sure where I found this last year, it may have been here on the forum, but You Grow Girl had an automatic seed starting chart that is so easy to use. It is not available on the website now, but I had saved mine with the link info.

First, you need to know your average spring frost date (You can find this by your zip code at Dave's Garden.

Next, go to Automatic Seed Starting Chart. You cannot save the document that opens, but you can "Save As" a new one for your own use. At the top is a yellow box where you put in your frost free date & it automatically puts in the dates for several vegetables.

Just thought I would share.

Too bad I don't have Excel on my Microsoft.

I use the old-fashioned method of counting on my fingers. Smile

I don't have Excel either, just the spreadsheet program in Microsoft Works that came installed on my computer.

If you want a free "office" type program, Open Office is all I use. It's free and works almost just as well as Microsoft. There's minor kinks for ease of a few things, but all in all, it's a great bundle. Works on just about every operating system too.

And if your worried about using and and then possibly saving your spreadsheet, document, what have you, when you save it, you can actually save it as a Windows format (example, spreadsheets in OO are ods, Microsoft is .xlm (or something along those lines)). Regardless, it's free, works great, and has most everything that Microsoft comes with.

Google Documents is pretty good too, if you don't need something as full-featured as Office. I like that I can access the documents I create with Google Docs from any computer, anytime, and I can easily share them with other people for editing.

Also, you don't necessarily have to save it to your computer. After you put in your date, just print from there.
