Re: Holy snow Batman!
Yesterday, Wednesday, and the night before, we had quite a lot of snow and it seemed that I was continually shovelling snow so that I could get to the road. Thank goodness I did not have to do the whole driveway.
Then I decided to get out my snowshoes and do some snow shoeing. Round the perimeter of my garden so that come the spring I can reach my SFG beds. The first part was hard, then I re-traced my path and it was a lot easier except that I managed to fall down and had a job to get up as my hand kept going down about eight inches into the soft snow. Luckily no one saw me make a fool of myself but at least I was able to laugh at myself. By the afternoon, the temperature had risen above freezing and the snow was melting.
I would not want to live in Eastern Canada where it is sooooo cold.

Scorpio,
Please send some of that snow our way (Central Oregon)! We're really hurting for more of that white stuff.

Let's hope it doesn't rain and then freeze.sanderson wrote:Is it light and fluffy?
Re: Holy snow Batman!
It was until we got freezing rain and some rain. But the freezing rain put a protective coating on top and so underneath it is still somewhat fluffy. It's not what I call packing snow which is good for making snowmen and snow forts.sanderson wrote:Is it light and fluffy?

Re: Holy snow Batman!
Sanderson,
Being in a fairly northern location, I thought the cartoon was hilarious!
It was 2F here at home this morning. Though not a record--low temps in winter here occasionally go below zero--it's been cold. Fortunately, we finally got a bit of snow, which is insulating everything that's still in the ground. According to the forecast, there's more to come!
I'm still recovering from my Achilles surgery last month and am essentially house-bound. At least I have my seed catalogs and cats to alleviate the boredom.

I LOVE this thread! There's just an outside chance I'll get to contribute this week. Fingers crossed.

CN, I think it's fairly likely that some of that white stuff will fall in or near your area soon.
Most of the weather sites I check daily are calling for 1'+ here in Bend over the next 10 days.

TD, I heard Eskimos and Inuits have over 200 words to describe snow. I have also heard if you buy a Canadian a beer they will share their over 400 words to describe snow but many contain swear words, eh.

Mr. Booker,
Perhaps I should have said "during" the next few days. However, I do appreciate your humor.
By the way, Bend is a city in Central Oregon. And that 1' forecast has not come to pass.
