Re: Holy snow Batman!
Brrr! Gonna get cold here too, but not that extreme!
Snow Forts! Love it! Did you ever do the igloo thing with cardboard milk cartons? Pack it in the carton and build an igloo! Fun!
I suppose you could use the plastic ones too, just cut the top off.

Yes we did use various containers but mostly we just cut the blocks of snow with our hands or rolled up "packing snow" into balls that we then shaped into blocks.Scorpio Rising wrote:...

We got more snow today. This was the "packing" kind which is good for making forts and snowmen.
This photo is looking through a window in the hallway on the second floor of our house. The silhouetted plant in the foreground on the right is Parsley.
The next two are looking down the street.

Re: Holy snow Batman!
Too much snow. Maybe I will finally have to invest in a snow blower!

Re: Holy snow Batman!
I think I see you at the end of the sidewalk Yes, a snow blower just might be in order.
Re: Holy snow Batman!
This view is from the back, looking toward the sun room with the plant lights on. That's my aloe bed in front of the a/c surround, custom Bob-Built with cats in mind. It has cat steps up the side on the left, a "catwalk" all the way around, and a roofed-over, carpeted cat space under the window.
Re: Holy snow Batman!
From the back side yard, looking toward the house. This is our juniper, hanging over the fence, with the Bob-Built, cat-friendly firewood bin in the background. The scaffolding in the back center is for the Gulf Fritillaries -- it supports the passion vine plants.
Re: Holy snow Batman!
Ha! Snow it is!
Suz, do you guys normally get snow?
Yeah, Sanderson, real funny! LOL! Although we are in a bit a==of a warm snap here, wet and rainy. Yuk. I Would rather have snow! It is January....

I'm glad all the predictions we were getting from all the weather services about a horrific ice storm never materialized. We ended up getting a good, long, rainy soak, instead. I'd rather have snow, too... it's supposed to be winter.

Re: Holy snow Batman!
I saw that picture yesterday as well, lol! And I feel the same way! (As we have record-breaking highs going on in this area... Got up to 75 yesterday in the city!)
Re: Holy snow Batman!
It has been warm enough in the Atlanta area that I am having to turn on the air conditioner some days. That is insane in January! Normally January temperatures are in the 30-50's!

Re: Holy snow Batman!
That doesn't bode well for 2017. 2016 was the hottest year in recorded history. We certainly don't want to beat that record.runsamok wrote:It has been warm enough in the Atlanta area that I am having to turn on the air conditioner some days. That is insane in January! Us too... And I agree that this doesn't bode well... Either we're going to get slammed with winter or summer's going to be worse than last year....
Re: Holy snow Batman!
Spring seems to be so far, far away. In and around my house today this is what it looks like.
At the end of the driveway.
Looking west down the street.
The shed wearing a hat of snow.
Furnace inlet and outlet.
At least the driveway is clear ... oops spoke to soon, just looked outside and it is snowing yet again.

TD, I'm pretty sure some of that snow is supposed to be here in Pennsylvania. It feels very strange to not have it. Sorry about the delivery error(s).

Snow in Ottawa today. The grandkids like it. Not me but I'm out of town so that's ok.

A couple of photos of the garden when we got home from our trip today. The pond is almost completely frozen over. Temp is going up to +8C tomorrow so the snow may melt away.

I don't understand. The photos are not giving me a problem. The photos were taken on my Android Phone and uploaded to the SFG forum in the usual manner using the forum's photo storing service. I did exactly the same thing with my Royal Botanical Gardens train photos a couple of days ago.
The images are working perfectly on my Android Phone and my Windows 10 desktop PC. I also posted the very same photos from my phone to Facebook and there have been no complaints.
